Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted – please ensure that all components are completed.
Scholarship Applications
Applications should be submitted to the tray at the front desk.
Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
All students requesting financial aid must have qualified (already been approved)
for the free/reduced lunch program (Title 1) in the first week of school.

Friday, September 30: Trip Assignments & Scholarship Notification
Trip lists will be posted online and at the front of the school.
Students not placed on trips will be placed on the waiting list.
Marra will notify scholarship recipients of the amount.

Leaders will hold by Friday, October 7: Initial Student & Parent Information Meeting
Each trip leader will need to arrange an evening meeting to give families an opportunity
to learn more about the trip prior to making the deposit –
this is the first of a few meetings but is necessary to allow families to make their decisions early.

Friday, October 14: Final Trip Acceptance and Non-Refundable Deposit Due
Students must deposit $500 to secure their places. Some trips may have a modified deposit requirement (if more);
trip leader will inform students if this is the case. Scholarship funds cannot be used for the deposit. Deposits are non-refundable.

Scholarship recipients complete and sign forms accepting or declining their award.

Students who decline their trips or do not submit deposits will forfeit their spaces
Their places will be offered to students on the waiting list as soon as possible.

Trip-Specific Timelines & Reminders

After trip lists have been finalized in October, trip leaders will make their trip-specific timelines available.  These will include:

Payment schedule: Typically tour operators require partial, non-refundable payments between December 2011 and February 2012.  Check the tour operator’s materials or contact the trip leader for details.  Scholarships will be distributed in one installment, directly to the tour operator, after the student has paid the first payment of their trip.

Documents: Tour operators and trip leaders will inform students and families of required travel documents (passport, visas, notarized travel form for international trips, medical history and insurance, etc.), but it is good to think about these things early and talk to your tour operator.

Third Quarter X-block: Students are required to sign-up for a third quarter x-block if their trip leader chooses to have one to prepare for the trip. If you do not have a 3rd quarter x-block, lunch or evening meetings will need to take place instead.
